1 Telerobotics Experiments via Internet
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper describes design issues involved in providing remote users with internet access to laboratory or production line based hardware. Simulation tools for the robotic hardware were developed using C++ and VRML 97 to create a desktop virtual reality environment which improves the visualisation of the manipulator hardware and associated workspace. Communication between the remote user and project server via the internet, interface electronics and control software is also discussed. Off-line programming allows user to create and test user programmes inside a virtual robot cell. A collision detection software added to the robot virtual world enables production engineers to ensure that a robot can reach all the necessary points in a real world. Using of virtual reality simulator allows to reduce time for which the robot cell is out of production. Users using networked computers can access the on-line robot cell to perform a series of interactive experiments with realworld hardware including a real-time video supported Web controlled magnetic suspension system and a six degree-of-freedom MA2000 robot.

Internet-Based Telerobotics: Problems and Approaches
This paper describes the main issues facing the development of telerobotics systems connected to the Internet. The initial hurdle relates to the deenition and implementation of an appropriate communication protocol for delivering real-time data. Two of the solutions proposed in the literature are brieey summarized. Then the paper examines the issues relevant to control systems in the presence o...
متن کاملDevelopment of Architectures for Internet Telerobotics Systems
This paper presents our experience in developing and implementing Internet telerobotics system. Internet telerobotics system refers to a robot system controlled and monitored remotely through the Internet. A robot manipulator with five degrees of freedom, called Mentor, is employed. Client-server architecture is chosen as a platform for our Internet telerobotics system. Three generations of tel...
متن کاملVirtual environment for telerobotics
A common problem faced by institutions concerns the limited availability of expensive robotics and control equipment, with which students in the educational program can work, in order to acquire valuable 'hands on' experience. The Multiple Manipulators for Training and Education (MuMaTe) virtual control and robotics laboratory was launched on the World Wide Web (WWW). Its aim was to evaluate th...
متن کاملImpedance controller design of Internet-based teleoperation using absolute stability concept
Relationships between impedance parameters and scaling factors are derived using absolute stability and passivity. For this, the teleoperation system is represented as a two-port model with a hybrid matrix. Design procedure of the impedance parameters for the absolute stability of the teleoperator under the time delay is proposed. The validity of the proposed control scheme is demonstrated by e...
متن کاملBig Signal: Information Interaction for Public Telerobotic Exploration
Obstacles must be overcome in order to make viable public distribution of interactive remote experiences via the Internet. High latency and the fact that there are many more users than robots make traditional forms of telerobotics difficult. The Big Signal project seeks to overcome these obstacles using information interaction tightly coupled to a live autonomous rover mission. Information inte...
